Quietly facing cacao.

When the way you face something changes,

the same cacao feels entirely different.

Not adding something new — but pausing, and listening closely.

Cacaogoto was born from that stillness.

Just as tea has koicha and usucha,

cacao too has its moments of deep presence

and its moments of easy pleasure.

Within that difference lies the depth of cacao.

Taking the spirit of chaji as a guide,

we explore new expressions of cacao.

Richness lives in the act of feeling.

A moment spent with a bowl of cacao.

The instant words fall away before the skill of a craftsperson.

The once-in-a-lifetime encounter shared with those present.

All of it —

is what it means to taste cacao.

Cacaogoto is a chaji of cacao.

Not tea, but cacao.

The air of the space,

its atmosphere, the presence between people.

Opening every sense, savoring the act of being there, in that time.

Through cacao,

we open a culture of richness to the world of today.

What We Hold Dear

I. The pure taste of cacao, without compromise.

No sugar, no milk — 100% cacao. Tasting cacao in its purest form.

II. Carrying what lives in the hands and eyes of craftspeople into the next era.

The spirit of chaji, and the skill that supports chocolate. Passing that accumulation forward as culture.

III. Transparency from origin to hand.

Where it was grown, and by whose hands. Knowing this deepens every bowl.

The Maker

To face cacao is to face culture.

YUKARI NAKANO

Born in Fukuoka, into a family with roots in a long-established confectionery house — she grew up immersed in the culture of Japanese sweets. Inspired by her grandmother, she studied chado and received the tea name Sōkō. While working in Belgium on the launch and marketing of a chocolate brand, she encountered bean-to-bar chocolate — and founded Cacaogoto.

Today, as a cacao specialist, she travels to origins around the world, working alongside chefs, craftspeople, and producers to share cacao culture from Japan.
